Karen was working one weekend a month, so I spent all weekend with Wesley from time to time. We needed activities! Here we are at the Children's Museum in Boston.

The Christmas gift-giving concept is becoming clear to everyone here. Smell the bone...

... reach into the stocking ...

... find the prize!

No thanks Bappa. I am young, spritely, and my vision is 20/20!

What is the sound of maracas playing the piano? It is not the sound of one hand clapping.

This looks like it could be fun if the drum sticks weren't attached to the drum with 3 inch strings. Longer ones would be a choking hazard? What's next, a drumming helmet and elbow pads?

One new toy a year, that's all I ask.

Sometimes this kid really lights up a room

Here's Wesley with his cousin Justin

We bought a condo in December. Then we had about a month to fix it up a bit before we moved in. This photo shows refinished floors, the dingy radiator, and the plaster ripped down which had been covering up the remains of the original dining room paneling. There is also a window that is drywalled over.
IMG_0128.JPG
The drywall is gone to reveal the original window. It is not in good shape though, we will need to replace it. The radiator has been stripped and repainted, and I have rebuilt the paneling around the room.

We are painting all the woodwork in the dining room. It is a lot of work; first sanding, then a coat of primer and two coats of paint.

Wesley is helping to screw the desk together. He has learned a lot about tools lately.
IMG_0182.JPG
Wesley is standing in his great grandfather's Bowdoin chair. He loves to stand in it and look out the window at taxi cabs and squirrels.

Wesley did a sailor dive off a dining room chair this weekend. A rural New Hampshire hospital tried to patch up his chin with some kind of glue, which quickly disintigrated. Then he got stitches, which dissolved. The next stitches pulled out when he opened a drawer into his face. On the fourth trip to the emergency room they got the job done... Here he shows off his handsome bandage.

I thought Wesley had a pretty good idea of where his mouth is located on his face, but this experiment shows that his aim is not as good as I thought.

Here are some nice family photos from my cousin Tim's wedding in New York, a high class affair.

A lazy weekend in Falmouth. We are all preparing ourselves mentally for the new baby.

Wesley has a guest over to his house.
DSCF0116.JPG
He only has accomadations for one guest at a time. Everyone must take turns.

This cast iron stove is at least 100 years old. I remember it from my childhood, but I thought it was much bigger than it is! I guess it has shrunk.

The new obsession : heavy machinery. 'Wesley is driving the tractor'.

After multiple tries, we are all headed off on the ferry to George's Island in Boston harbor.
IMG_0229.JPG
The ferry goes right past the airport. The planes landing over head is a neat experience (especially if you are only 1).
IMG_0237.JPG
Wesley keeps up a pretty good pace, as long as he doesn't get distracted by any particularly interesting rocks or bugs.
