Spring, 2003

Wesley is learning how to crawl. First he learns to get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth vigorously. He hopes that hollering Aaaaaaa! will help to get him going.

Then he learns to commando crawl. Imagine a baby crawling through a minefield, under barbed wire, with a wounded leg, and you will have a good idea what this looks like.

In April, there's still snow up at the camp in Maine.

Last year Dave attempted to grow grass in the back yard, but failed.

Perhaps the growth was inhibited by too many rocks, lumpy ground, or non-nutritious soil. So this year he and Vaughan spend a whole day raking out all the rocks, then lay down 10 cubic yards of authentic corn-fed worm-chewed Great Plains Super LushRx topsoil. Grow, grass, grow, we will stop at nothing to coax you out.

Today is actually Boston Marathon Day, not that there are any marathoners in the picture. But it did get us down to the skating pond on Boston Common. Not that there was any skating...

Learning to eat from the table is fun, but it takes a lot of concentration to nab those tiny and agile Cheerios.
